Educate, equip, and empower
with ella®
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that women keep emergency contraception on hand, particularly one containing ulipristal acetate.4 ella is the only oral emergency contraceptive available that contains the active ingredient ulipristal acetate. ella is also the only emergency contraceptive pill that:
Is effective when the risk of pregnancy is at its highest—even when ovulation is imminent.1
Is effective for up to 5 days after having unprotected sex.2
Demonstrated a pregnancy rate of less than 1% in scientific studies when taken within 24 hours after having unprotected sex. In those same studies, there was a pregnancy rate of 1.3% when ella was taken within 5 days after unprotected sex.2
With ella on hand, the choice is in their hands

Whether a patient needs it immediately or wants it just in case, arming them with a prescription for ella that they can fill to keep on hand will give them an extra layer of protection for preventing unintended pregnancy. With insurance, most patients will have a $0 out-of-pocket cost for ella.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires most health plans to cover emergency contraception (EC) as long as it’s prescribed by a healthcare provider. This means most commercial and government-insured patients will have a $0 copay for ella, making it the most affordable option for these patients.

Advanced prescription
Providing patients with an advanced prescription for ella allows them to avoid unnecessary panic or delays in the need for emergency contraception after unprotected sex. Asking your patients if they would like an advanced prescription can help them stay prepared and be in control of their reproductive health by having a reliable backup contraceptive that is available for them at a moment’s notice.
Emergency prescription
When patients need to rely on emergency contraception, it can be stressful and overwhelming. Prescribing ella when they need it can alleviate some of that anxiety and provide them with efficacy for up to 5 days after unprotected sex,2 even when ovulation is imminent.1
